Saw the doc and was referred to the Orthopaedic with many years of experience. After some tests, knocking the knees and here & there, he confirmed saying "this is a classic case of slipped disc". I was told not to lift heavy stuff and LOSE WEIGHT! For a moment I thought I was to be sent to go under the knife as most cases I heard had to. Boy was I afraid. I thought "Oh no, I hope I don't die...".

I was given painkillers and asked to go for 3 sessions of physiotheraphy for a "lumbar traction" and "shortwave". It sounded foreign to me. What were they going to do with me?

So, three sessions and then what? I still get the pain on and off.

How to lose weight? I tried it all but never seem to succeed. It has always been a yo-yo weight problem for me since I was young, until four years ago, I decided to stop trying. I signed up for a personal training package of 45 sessions last year, only to end up with the same weight I started with and a slipped disc! I have tried whatever diet there was in the market but it was again up and down as always. I have wasted too much money and time on my weight loss quest. All because I wanted to be still attractive to my not-so-faithful husband. But I told myself that if he really loves me, he loves me for who I am and not what I can be for him. Apparently he does not.

But now there is a compelling reason to lose weight - to save myself from going under the knife. It is for health, not for my husband. I still need to support my three kids through school. However, I can't go for personal training cos anything too strenous may hurt me.

I recalled Pastor Prince preaching about the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:24-34, about how she has suffered a great deal under the care of MANY doctors and have SPENT all she had, yet instead of getting better, she grew worse. I pray that now I am that woman to whom Jesus said "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering". I want to be able to touch His cloak, to get well and be restored in wealth as well.

I know somehow Jesus will show me the way. He is my Jehovah Jireh. Amen.
